and their parents!
NEW! Children in Between: For Kids was created especially for families going through divorce or separation. Our goal is to help children aged 7 to 14 understand and manage the many emotions surrounding their family's break up. Watching with you, your children will learn proven skills to reduce everyday worries and enhance good feelings in the home, and more success in school. We expect their stress, including anxiety, depression, and fear will lessen after using this program.
The Center for Divorce Education
Created by Dr. Don Gordon, Children in Between builds on 40 years of research in the area of divorce education, and presents skills training using best practices in adult education and behavior modeling. It focuses on teaching anger control and respectful communication to parents as a means of ending loyalty conflicts and lowering risk for children of divorce.
Anger Control
Parents who can control their anger are more likely to engage ex’s in a manner that is most likely to lead to amicable results and limit the effects of the separation on their children.
Respectful Communication
Studies show that effective parenting after divorce is directly related to parents ability to respectfully communicate with one another. Our programs teach skills that can immediately improve communication.
Ending Loyalty Conflicts
Loyalty conflicts cause the most damage to children. We focus on how parents involve their children in these conflicts unintentionally, and change that.
