Our Vision
The Center for Divorce Education is Dedicated to the Following Goals:
- Educating the public, domestic relations referees and judges, and legislators on the effects of divorce and parenting plans on the emotional and social development of children,
- Distributing through publications, videos, and workshops the most promising alternatives for divorcing families; and
- Promoting effective education programs for parents and children that minimize the harmful effects of divorce.
At Our Core, We View Our Mission as Advocating for Children.
To achieve this mission and our stated goals we conduct research and identify the most effective strategies that are proven to help parents reduce their conflict while maintaining a focus on achieving their parental responsibilities. The result is a reduction in the harm caused to children while parents are going through a divorce or creating two separate homes (for never married couples).
The strategies identified by the Center for Divorce Education’s research is based on experimental designs (including randomization), and has been replicated by independent researchers internationally (producing similar results – see Resources Tab for summaries).
With an emphasis on evidence-based practices the curriculum produced and disseminated by CDE has received the highest accolades from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, SAMHSA division, with recognition as a “model program” and listing on the National Registry for Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).

Children In Between is evidence-based and proven effective. Extensive research and clinical tests show that use of Children In Between resulted in:
- Reduced Re-litigation rates
- Reduce Parental Conflict
- Helped children with their adjustment to separation or divorce.
Success of the program has earned it a listing in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs as well as many other honors and rankings.

Low Cost, Low Hassle
Unlike other co-parenting programs, Children In Between requires no training to implement and one staff member can deliver the program, which simply entails getting online and showing parents how it works. This procedure takes approximately two minutes and requires no skill, credentials, or training on the part of the staff member. Assistance is available by calling or emailing our office, but the program basically runs itself.
By eliminating the traditional costs of training and hiring new staff, Children In Between is available for much less investment of both time and money. The online based format as well proves to be both inexpensive and effective.
