CDE is a non-profit corporation founded by a consortium of lawyers and psychologists in 1987.

CDE's goals are to:

  • educate the public, domestic relations referees and judges, and legislators on the effects of divorce and parenting plans on the emotional and social development of children
  • distribute through publications, videos, and workshops the most promising alternatives for divorcing families
  • promote effective education programs for parents and children that minimize the harmful effects of divorce

CDE is concerned with the impact of divorce on parents, however, we view our primary role as advocates for children.
